Window World Helps Customers Burned by Store’s Sudden Closing

Window World says it’s doing everything it can to help customers left high and dry when the company’s Springfield, Mo., outlet closed recently with no explanation.

As DWM reported on Tuesday, the Window World outlet in Springfield recently stopped answering phone calls and locked its doors. Angry customers, who paid for windows they never received, wondered how they were going to get their money back.

Chad Kleis, the Midwest regional manager for Window World, is in Springfield helping customers. He says the company is doing everything it can to rectify the situation.

“We are working diligently to contact each customer to let them know of the situation, and assuring them that we will be fully standing by the terms of the contracts, or provide them a refund if appropriate,” he says in an e-mail.  “Bottom line…customers will receive windows or their money back.   We are putting all the needed resources in place to execute the installations that will take place in the weeks ahead.”

Local TV station KY3 reports that Window World plans to stay in Springfield and will reopen its franchise there with new owners.

As for the mysterious departure of the previous owners? “I really don’t want to speculate at this time other than the obvious desire to no longer run a franchise,” Kleis says.
