The Vinyl Institute has hired Domenic DeCaria, a chemical engineer with a business background, as the company’s new Technical Director. In his new role, DeCaria will work on technical, standards and regulatory matters related to material science, recycling, sustainability and other core vinyl industry priorities. He reports to Rich Krock, vice president of technical and regulatory affairs.

The addition of Domenic expands our capacity … [his] technical expertise and deep knowledge of the vinyl industry are a tremendous asset to our members and the organization.”

DeCaria comes to VI after 15 years at Lubrizol Corp., where he most recently served in the company’s TempRite Engineered Polymers division, where he was the global business development manager. As such, he was responsible for identifying new market opportunities for chlorinated vinyl (CPVC). He previously worked in process engineering roles at National Steel Corp.
