VEKA West Facility Celebrates 20th Anniversary

VEKA’s 160,000-square-foot extrusion facility in Reno, Nev., is celebrating its 20th year of operation in 2015.

In 1995, VEKA had a small customer base and knew that a presence was necessary to both maintain and grow business west of the Mississippi. Key accounts in California and Western Canada led to early success for VEKA, while its eastern headquarters was experiencing tremendous growth due to the successes of the replacement/remodel markets, according to the company.

“In the last 20 years, we have seen other extruders come and go in Reno,” said VEKA president and CEO Joe Peilert in a statement. “Throughout that period, we have continued to invest to help our customers and employees become successful. That goal hasn’t changed — it’s what motivates us going forward.”

“The relationships and history we have with our customers is something that we cherish and it keeps us motivated every day,” said Lex Winans, Western Regional Sales Manager for VEKA, in a statement.  “For me, the most endearing part of being with VEKA all this time is the people. At West, employees hired in 1995 are still with us and have unparalleled pride in this company and the drive to help our family of customers to grow and excel. As far as the customers, I have been fortunate enough to have shared a journey with many people for over 20 years, through the good times and bad, in some cases, their families as well.”

VEKA, a PVC extrusion technology company, has 18 plants worldwide and is headquartered in Sendenhorst, Germany. VEKA Inc., based in Fombell, Pa., is corporate headquarters for North America and heads up three manufacturing facilities as well as various product divisions.
