Erie, Pa.-based Seaway Manufacturing Corp. celebrates its 55th year in business in 2014.

“It’s very gratifying for us to celebrate this milestone, especially as it accompanies a resurgence in our industry after several very challenging years,” says Seaway president Jana Goodrich.  “Many businesses in the home improvement manufacturing sector were unable to weather the recent economic climate, and it was not without its challenges for Seaway, as well. Thanks to a wonderful group of employees and clients doing really high-quality work, we’re here to celebrate an anniversary that really is a testament to the whole team.”

The family-owned and -operated company was founded in 1959 as a fabricator of aluminum storm products Priligy, including storm doors and windows, and today manufactures vinyl replacement doors, windows and sunrooms.

“There are so many interesting chapters in the Seaway story, from my father-in-law’s founding of the business to today, when Seaway is a woman-run company in an industry that is very much male-dominated,” says Goodrich, “Through all of that, through the addition of vinyl products and countless technological innovations, Seaway has remained a steady provider of employment in Erie and has improved countless thousands of homes. We’re even more pleased to say that we can look ahead to our third generation of family stewardship with the addition of our son, Patrick, to the Seaway team in 2012.”
