The Holmes County Chamber of Commerce has recognized ProVia as part of their annual awards program by naming it 2019 Large Business of the Year and awarding founder and chairman of the board Bill Mullet with the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mullet started ProVia from a small garage in Sugarcreek, Ohio, in 1977. It now has about 1,000 employees. Mullet set up plant expansions, infrastructure enhancements, efficiency upgrades and acquisitions that extended the company’s vertical integration and product portfolio. Mullet retired from ProVia in 2015 but still serves as chairman of the board of directors.

In addition to his time at ProVia, Mullet is recognized for his service in many other capacities as a faithful husband, father, grandfather, pastor and teacher. He and his wife, Ellen, served two years with a non-government organization in Eastern Europe and later started a non-profit organization, at which he remains chairman.

For the Large Business of the Year award, companies are assessed for their contributions in a variety of areas including long-term economic impact, entrepreneurial initiative, construction activity, beautification, reputation and community involvement. ProVia was recognized for its contributions in all of these areas. The Mullet family’s goal has been to instill ingenuity and community service values into the ProVia team members.

“We’re committed to continually enhancing people’s lives through the work we do and the products we make. This will define ProVia’s future as it has our past,” says current president and CEO Brian Miller.
