Energi Names Koscho as New CEO

Christopher Koscho has been named CEO of Energi Fenestration Solutions.Koscho was previously with HC Companies as president and CEO. Prior to HC Companies, Koscho held senior operations positions with Myers Industries, Veyance Technologies and Goodyear Tire and Rubber.


Steve Chen Named President of Crystal Windows

Crystal Window & Door Systems has appoint-ed Steve Chen as president. Company founder Thomas Chen previously held this position, and he is now the chair.The promotion of Steve Chen reflects his expanding role in directing the strategic initiatives and operations of Crystal Windows and its related subsidiaries and affiliates across the country. It also marks the transition from the founding generation of this family-owned business to the next generation.

AAMA Names Yglesias New Leader, Salutes Rich Walker

Janice Yglesias has been picked to lead the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), succeeding Rich Walker, who is step-ping aside after 18 years as president and CEO.

Walker joined AAMA in 1996 as technical director and advanced to Southeast region director before accepting the president and CEO position in 2000. Under his leadership, the organization has experienced tremendous growth and success. Beyond expanding AAMA’s technical offerings, which serve as the cornerstone of the association, Walker led the expansion of the association’s services to include comprehensive education such as the FenestrationMasters program, legislative and regulatory monitoring, and validation of fenestration product performance in Florida.

“Rich has made an indelible, positive impression on the AAMA culture,” said Mike DeSoto, AAMA chair and the COO of MI Windows and Doors.

Yglesias, whose title is executive vice president, began her career at AAMA in 1999. In 2000, she was promoted to marketing manager and has since held other management positions. Most recently, Yglesias served as association services director, continuing to guide her existing areas of responsibility while advising on accounting and product certification activities.

“The board of directors has the highest confidence in Janice,” said DeSoto.


DWM Wins Six ASBPE Awards

Door and Window Market (DWM) magazine won six American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) awards—four regional and two national—honoring the staff’s outstanding work in print, video and online.

That includes two regional gold medal winners —editorial director Tara Taffera and video producer Chris Bunn for best webcast series, and DWM editor Trey Barrineau for best news analysis for “Lights Out for Energy Star? It Could Happen …” from the June-July 2017 issue. These two entries also won national bronze awards in May.

Additionally, DWM won a regional silver medal for best single-topic coverage by a team for its ongoing reporting on robotics and automation in the door and window industry. Barrineau shared that award with contributing editors Ellen Rogers and Katherine Coig. Taffera won a regional bronze medal in the best online analysis/commentary category for her “Door and Window Musings” blog on

Three other publications put out by Key Media & Research (KMR), the parent company of DWM, won regional ASBPE awards as well.USGlass magazine won four bronze medals, WINDOW FILM magazine won a regional silver and a bronze, and AGRR magazine took home a regional bronze.

In all, KMR won 13 awards, the most ever for the company.
