Representatives from the Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA), the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) met recently to finalize the next draft of the North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS). The groups are aiming to make the next edition of the standard available in time to be referenced in the 2010 edition of the I-Codes, according to the WDMA.In the next draft, the door and skylight criteria will be listed separately from the window criteria, in an effort to make the document easier to use. In addition, criteria has been added to address tubular daylighting devices and mulled assemblies, and reference standards have been updated, WDMA reports.

The compiled draft is expected to be available for ballot shortly after July 17, 2009, and will be sent to all members of WDMA, AAMA and CSA, for initial balloting.
