Door and Window Market (DWM) magazine was named a finalist for four American Society of Business Publication Editors’ (ASBPE) awards on Thursday, showcasing the staff’s outstanding work in print, video and online.

The magazine’s accolades include two national finalists – DWM editor Trey Barrineau for best news analysis for “Lights Out for Energy Star? It Could Happen …” from the June-July 2017 issue, and editorial director Tara Taffera and video producer Chris Bunn for best webcast series.

Additionally, DWM is up for two regional ASBPE awards. One is for best single-topic coverage by a team for its ongoing reporting on robotics and automation in the door and window industry. Contributing editors Ellen Rogers and Katherine Coig share that nomination with Barrineau.

Taffera is a regional finalist in the best online analysis/commentary category for her “Door and Window Musings” blog on

Three other publications put out by Key Media & Research (KMR), the parent company of DWM, are up for regional ASBPE awards as well. USGlass magazine has four nominations, Window Film magazine has two, and AGRR magazine has one.

In all, KMR garnered 11 nominations, the most ever for the company.

“These nominations are a wonderful testament to the talent and hard work of our staff,” said KMR president Deb Levy. “They work very hard to deliver professional products of the highest quality to all the glass-related industries that we serve, and it’s heartening to see their work recognized.”

The national ASBPE Award winners will be revealed on May 10 during a banquet at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The date and location for the Mid-Atlantic regional awards banquet is still undecided.
