Hy-Lite/US Block Moves Vinyl Extrusion Purchases and Acrylic Block Manufacturing to United States

Hy-Lite/US Block Windows has moved all of its vinyl extrusion purchases and acrylic block manufacturing out of China and back into the United States, according to a recent announcement from the company.”When we acquired Hy-Lite earlier this year we learned much of the company’s acrylic block and vinyl extrusion manufacturing was being done in China,” says Roger Murphy, president of Hy-Lite/U S Block Windows. “We immediately set to work to bring those processes and jobs back to America.

“Now we are successfully purchasing all our vinyl extrusions from extruders in the [United States] and we are manufacturing the Hy-Lite acrylic blocks at our own company facility in Florida and at a contract molding company in Ohio. We have purchased additional injection molding equipment and added nine employees to our Pensacola molding department to move this work in-house. We anticipate hiring more employees as the housing market recovers and demand for our products increase. When the product demand grows, it will mean more jobs for American workers rather than jobs being sent overseas.”

Murphy says the move from China also will positively impact production at the company’s outsourced domestic vinyl extruder and domestic block molder.

“The trickle-down effect of this decision affects several companies in America and many people,” says Murphy. “Every job counts. We feel exceptionally good that we can say all our acrylic block and extrusions are now made in America.”
