Head of Green Building Initiative to Speak at WDMA Conference

The Window and Door Manufacturers Association has announced that that Vicki Worden, the new executive director of the Green Building Initiative (GBI), will speak at the 2015 WDMA Technical and Manufacturing Conference. Worden has more than 20 years of experience working with industries, government and non-profit organizations in the advancement of broad sustainability objectives.

As president of Worden Associates Inc. for the past 10 years, Worden has worked with champions of sustainability in a variety of sectors and organizations, from federal entities to international code and standards organizations. She is a former judge of the White House ‘Closing the Circle’ Sustainability Awards and has helped to develop and launch extensive programs, services and green labels, including the GBI’s “Green Globes” rating system for commercial buildings, whose launch she oversaw as vice president of commercial programs for GBI from 2005-2010.

At the conference, which will take place June 16-18 in Minneapolis, Worden will discuss what’s next for the Green Globes program as well as participate in the program “Keeping Up with Green and Calls for Product Transparency.”
