Guest Blog: WinDoor 2017 is An Opportunity to Embrace Our History

The final arrangements have been made and I am ready for WinDoor 2017 next week in Toronto. I ended up getting one of the last rooms at the Hilton. (More good luck than good management.)

As a regular attendee from the East Coast, WinDoor is always an important date on my calendar. We value the relationships with our suppliers and always look forward to spending quality time on the show floor with our exhibitors. Exhibitors often bring more to the show than a rep can carry in their briefcase. We always view WinDoor as a time to affirm existing relationship and a chance to discover new opportunities. Bringing key people with different areas of responsibility in the business (purchasing, R&D and operations) always ensures we get the best results from walking the show floor.

This year’s event is anything but the “same old WinDoor.” As part of Fenestration Canda’s 50th anniversary, we will be honoring 15 more pioneers at the Main Event on Wednesday evening. Previously we have inducted pioneers in 2009 and 2012.   We are thankful to have many of the 2017 inductees planning to attend with their families, friends and colleagues. This is an important opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our industry veterans and recognize their effort in taking our industry and our association to where it is today.

While tickets are now scarce for this event, I hope we can all make an effort to be a part of the history of our association. This event has been made possible because of the incredible support we are receiving from our event sponsors. Going back to the airport location has also made this event possible. With over 450 tickets sold to date, the organizing committee deserves a big thumbs up from our association. Thanks to all who have worked to make this event a success.

See you at WinDoor 2017!
