Fypon is once again celebrating curb appeal for the home during the second annual “National Curb Appeal Month” in August.

The month-long focus is dedicated to helping homeowners discover ways to add value and design appeal to their home’s exterior.

“Updating home exterior elements is a smart decision for any homeowner,” says JJ Rogers, sales operations manager for Fypon. “If you’re selling your home, these updates add to the value and curb appeal of the house, helping potentially speed up the selling process and the sales price. And, if you’re staying in your home long-term, these improvements are a good investment for the functionality of the home along with the curb appeal aspects that you and your guests enjoy on a daily basis.”

As part of National Curb Appeal Month, company experts offered their tips on how to improve the curb appeal of doors and windows.

For doors, homeowners are encouraged to make their entryways “more welcoming with an elegant door surround,” a company statement says. This could include fluted pilasters on either side of the door then topping the door with a decorative pediment such as a rams head, sunburst, acorn or peaked cap style.

The company officials also recommend trimming out exterior windows. “Use crossheads for over a window and top with a solid, decorative or recessed panel keystone accent piece. On the sides and below the window, use moulding pieces with plinth blocks in the corners to eliminate miter cuts,” a company statement says.
