Dyer Named WMA’s Ron Taylor Award Winner for 2018

The World Millwork Alliance (WMA) has named Audrey Dyer as the 2018 recipient of the Ron Taylor Award of Integrity and Commitment.

The Ron Taylor Award (RTA) committee, comprised of past RTA recipients, recognizes an individual who has set sterling examples of three key components – Connection, Commitment and Contribution. The award will be presented to Dyer at the WMA 54th Annual Convention & Tradeshow on September 13, 2018, in Memphis, Tenn.

“It’s an honor for WMA to present Audrey Dyer with the 2018 Ron Taylor Award. Audrey represents the very best of our Association and the millwork industry,” said Rosalie Leone, WMA’s CEO.

Dyer began her career in millwork at ECMD 26 years ago. ECMD Distribution currently serves as the distribution arm for ECMD Inc.’s sole customer in the retail home improvement space, Lowe’s Home Improvement. Prior to ECMD, Dyer’s experience with Lowe’s startedas a merchant at Lowe’s for more than 10 years.

Today, ECMD Distribution currently employs more than 250 employees that service 18 states. ECMD Distribution delivers product to over 600 Lowe’s stores. Dyer’s leadership and professional commitment have inspired her team to build a solid relationship with the Lowe’s merchandising team; exceeding the market in cost management and growth.

Dyer is committed to giving back to her local community. She has served as President of the Rehab Patient and Family Advisory Council at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. In support of the arts and music, Dyer has served as a committee member on the Walker Center Events Advisory Committee since 2012, planning events for the John A. Walker Center Performance Season.

A longtime supporter of World Millwork Alliance, Dyer has been actively involved for nearly two decades generously contributing her time and efforts in supporting the growth and prosperity of WMA. Dyer has served as a WMA Board Member, Executive Officer and was the first woman as the 2011 WMA President. She has represented the association as a WMA Ambassador, and served on the Long Range Strategic Planning Committee, Membership Committee and Education Committee Chair. Dyer continues to promote education in the millwork industry to the next generation and encourages participation in the WMA. Audrey has participated in WMA’s Women in the Industry Forum Group, sharing best practices and supporting women in our industry.
