Atrium Corp., one of the largest manufacturers of vinyl and aluminum windows and patio doors in North America, has sold Thermal Windows and Doors, based in Murrysville, Pa., to a private investment group experienced in investing, managing and growing building products businesses. Terms of the deal were not announced.

As part of the transaction, Gary Acinapura was appointed CEO of Thermal Windows and Doors. According to a press release from Atrium, Acinapura has more than 35 years of experience in the building products industry. He has also worked as an operating partner for private equity firms that invest in the building products sector.

“Thermal will continue to operate from its Murrysville facility and will remain focused on providing the highest-quality products and outstanding customer service to the custom, replacement window and door market,” Acinapura said in a statement.

“We sincerely thank each of the employees at Thermal for their long-term support,” said Scott St. Clair, CEO of Atrium Corp., in a statement. “We believe the new ownership group will be able to take Thermal to new heights while allowing Atrium to focus on markets and customers that are the core of our long-term strategy.”

  1. I purchased windows from Total Home Solutions a few years back. I am selling my home and was told the warranty was transferable. Please let me know how I can transfer to the new owners.
