Arauco Builds North American Presence by Acquiring Prime-Line

August 23rd, 2019 by Kyra Thompson

Arauco has plans to strengthen its North American presence in the moulding industry by adding Prime-Line Inc. to the global wood products producer.

The announcement was made today that Arauco had signed an agreement to acquire the private Arkansas-based manufacturer of medium density fiberboard (MDF) moulding and millwork products. The transaction is expected to be completed September 3, 2019.

Prime-Line first crossed paths with Arauco in 2014 when it built a new plant adjacent to Arauco’s MDF plant in Malvern and has been their primary supplier of MDF panel for many years.

“The proximity of Prime-Line to our Malvern MDF operations creates many synergies between our two companies,” said Russ Jordan, Arauco North America vice president of sales and marketing. “This new capability complements our South American millwork operations and allows us to expand our service model to customers across North America.”

Arauco plans to operate the Prime-Line branch under the same name and to facilitate a smooth transition for customers and employees at the Arkansas facility.
