Andersen Corp. has announced the winners of its 2018 Chairman’s Award and Andersen Excellence Awards. The awards recognize internal projects demonstrating exemplary performance in safety, quality, sustainability, innovation and corporate citizenship.

“It is an honor to celebrate the talent, dedication and leadership of teams across the enterprise who deliver breakthrough work to serve our customers, improve communities and further our industry leadership,” said Andersen chairman and CEO Jay Lund.

One Excellence Award winner is chosen to receive the Chairman’s Award, recognizing a project that demonstrates excellence across multiple categories. The 2018 Chairman’s Award was presented to the Easy Connect Joining System, which was also honored with the Andersen Excellence Award for Innovation.

The patented Easy Connect Joining System uses interlocking fiberglass joining plates to offer design flexibility, making it safer and easier to handle and install large window combinations. The Easy Connect Joining System was also recently awarded the International Builders’ Show (IBS) Best in Show and Best Window and Door Product this year in Las Vegas.

Winners of other 2018 Andersen Excellence Awards categories include:

  • Andersen Excellence Award – Safety, awarded to the Strathroy Safety RACE Program, which includes an approach to injury prevention that focuses on identifying and addressing leading safety hazards by utilizing data and a standard process to proactively seek out hazards and drive actions to prevent future injuries;
  • Andersen Excellence Award – Quality, awarded to the 100 Series Picture Window Precision Corner Joining, a new corner joining technology that company officials say improves upon the long-term corner performance and aesthetics of 100 Series picture window frames;
  • Andersen Excellence Award – Sustainability, which went to the Bayport Fibrex Scrap Regrind Project, providing an approach to reducing waste while at the same time supporting the growth of Andersen Fibrex material-based products; and
  • Andersen Excellence Award – Corporate Citizenship, which was given to the Luray Orange Frogs, a group of compassionate and engaged employees committed to serving the specific needs of their local community through volunteerism and philanthropy.
