A New Poll Shows What Renovations Homeowners Are Looking For

CertainTeed, a sustainable building products brand, commissioned Harris Poll to survey 2,000 U.S. on their remodeling preferences. According to the poll, among the considerations of U.S. homeowners looking to remodel are curb appeal, return on investment and outdoor living and lifestyle considerations.

Most important to consumers was curb appeal, with 39 percent of respondents listing that as their top priority. Another 26 percent cited return on investment, and 21 percent noted impact on outdoor living and lifestyle considerations.

“In home design, there is an increased interest in individualization and creativity — true for both interior and exterior design,” says Mike Loughery, CertainTeed director of corporate marketing communications. “We’ve found that homeowners want healthy, energy-efficient homes that offer complete comfort and curb appeal, but don’t always know the best way to start.”
